Frequently Asked Questions
Please ensure to read through this list of frequently asked questions before filling out our contact form - if there's anything else you need to know just ask us within the form!
Can we discuss our event with you beforehand?
Yes - every booking will be eligible for a free 30-minute consultation over FaceTime, Zoom call, or phone. During this we can answer any questions you have which are not answered here, and generally get to know you and your vision for your event. We're sure that your mind will be put completely at ease and look forward to helping you make your event as special as it can be!
How to pay?
To confirm your booking and hold your date we will require a 20% non-refundable deposit. This is to ensure no one else can book us on your chosen date, and to protect us in case of last-minute cancellation. The rest of the fee will be due within one week of your event and should be credited to our account no later than one-day prior to the event. Again this is to protect us against non-payment and ensure an stress-free day for our clients. All payments are made directly to our bank account.
How long will you play for?
This is dependent on specific booking and event requirements. A typical wedding set will start at 8pm and finish at 12am midnight with the band taking a 30-minute break halfway through, however it's not uncommon for there to be changes to these times to accommodate other performers before or after us, buffets, or other special arrangements e.g. fireworks displays. We are happy to be as flexible as you need us to be and will try our best to work within any time plans you have arranged.
How far do you travel?
We are based in Lanarkshire, but will travel anywhere within the UK and Ireland or abroad. All bookings which are over 1 hour travel time from Lanarkshire will be subject to additional travel expenses which are in line with government guidelines on fuel expenses. Extremely long journeys will require overnight accommodation which, if not provided by the client, will be added to the total cost.
Will you play our First Dance?
Yes - every wedding has the option of having us learn and play your first dance song live for no additional fee, as well as one other song such as father/daughter dance. Please note - the song you choose may not be suitable for live performance (e.g. it has prominent orchestral or brass instruments). We will always prepare to play our own version of it, but clients may choose to play the original recording through our PA system as an mp3 instead.
Will you play requests?
Yes - this is our bread and butter. We are more than happy to learn a couple of songs for the occasion if you do not already see them on our set list. Requests from the audience are also strongly encouraged! Remember to let us know when booking if there are any specific songs you want us to include or omit from our performance.
How long does it take the band to set up?
We will require 1 hour from point of entry to the performance area to set up and soundcheck. Please note that this time begins from the moment we are allowed to begin loading in and unpacking our equipment - not from time we arrive at the venue. If this is later than expected due to the event running late or the room not being ready, we will still require 1 hour from this point. This is to ensure the quality of the sound is as good as it can possibly be for you and your guests and that we have time to deal with any potential technical problems that may arise due to the differing venue facilities - e.g. unstable or scarce power outlets in historic buildings or setting up to work with a sound limiter*. This is not a regular occurrence however and we will always strive to be set up as early as we can to ensure a prompt start to our performance.

* Please inform us when booking if your venue has a sound limiter.
Do you play Ceilidh music?
Yes - if you wish we can call several ceilidh dances either as one segment or at multiple points throughout the party.
Do you provide the necessary equipment and lighting?
Yes - all sound and lighting equipment for our performance is provided by us at no extra cost, fully PAT tested as per the venue's requirements.
Do you have public liability insurance?
Yes - we are fully insured for any occurrence. We can provide our documents to the venue prior for full peace of mind.
